Pvt Hampton

My great grandfather Ephraim J. Hampton was a private in Co. K, he signed up in August of 1864.  He was 18 years old.  He became ill on the march near City Point, Va.  Sometime in December 1864 he took a bad cold that settled upon his lungs and caused a severe soar throat and cough.  He was sent to the hospital at City Point and then on to Harewood Hospital in Washington, DC where he was discharged June 21, 1965.  Ephraim was active in the GAR Post NO. 252.I have his pension records and information about him re his death.
